So, I let them play for about a month for burn-in was finished, but I didn’t do any serious listening. Artaski recommended about 150 hours of break-in period and said they would further improve as more time was logged in. ![]() My review pair was brand spanking new and they needed to be burned in. Before settling down to serious listening when the break-in period I positioned the Lyra where my reference loudspeakers had been placed. I was amazed at the heavy weight of these monitors each weighs a substantial 77 lbs. My review samples were finished in a gorgeous silver anodized aluminum but they are also available in black anodized aluminum. This, of course, says a lot considering this is a small stand-mounted monitor. This first time listen had me marveling over the Lyra's quickness, inner detail, transparency and full-bodied-ness. Not surprisingly, at High End 2015 in Munich, Germany, Artaski dropped a bomb in everyone’s lap as officially he debuted his first loudspeaker, the Lyra two-way stand mounted monitor (photo right). When I first reviewed the Thrax Dionysos preamplifier back in early 2014 ( here), Rumen Artaski chief designer of Thrax Audio told me that he had been working on a new loudspeaker. ![]()
